Opening Prayer
Lord, you humbled yourself to come among us in human flesh, and opened the way to salvation.
Scripture
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. - Galatians 4:4-5
Reflection
Holy Spirit, kindle the flame of our faith. Grow us in joy. By your gracious visitation, lighten the darkness of our hearts.
Prayer
Creator God, sustainer of life, and designer of all, we praise you!
Time is of no essence to you.
You saw the entire world before time began and saw it through to our forsaken fleshly end in sin & despair.
But, by your great mercy, you didn’t leave us in our broken humanity. You had greater plans in store for redemption through your son.
Jesus, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a woman, with human limitations, yet also fully God.
Your design, so unimaginable to our earthly minds, yet the exact miracle that restores our right relationship in you.
We become adopted!
Not just as mere people you saved, but as your own, called home.
We get to be your children, full heirs to your throne, by your incomprehensible grace & majesty.
We get to be forever your sons and daughters; not forever stuck in the limitations of this broken world.
We loosen the chains of slavery to death, no longer kidnapped by this broken world, and accept life, sealed by mercy through your glorious name, Abba Father!
We remember your gift and in turn our hope
Closing Prayer
Behold we are the servants of the Lord. Let it be to us according to your word. May we rest in the peace that the darkness can never extinguish the light that has been given to us.
