Peace and Light
Listen Now
Opening Prayer
Lord Jesus, Light of light, you have come among us. The Lord is in our midst; he is mighty to save!
Scripture
It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it, 3 and many peoples shall come, and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths." For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the LORD. Isaiah 2:2-5
Reflection
Holy Spirit, kindle the flame of our faith. Grow us in Peace. You govern all things in heaven and earth— grant us your peace all the days of our life.
Prayer
Jehova-shalom.
The Lord is peace.
How we long for your peace.
Every fiber of our being, from our aching joints and bones to our dry and parched souls cry out for Jehova-shalom.
Father, hasten the day that we will go up to the mountain of the Lord, where your perfect judgment is final.
Where your laws are upheld.
We confess too often we prefer our weapons, custom-made to inflict others with the curse, over your tools of grace and peace.
Even now, King Jesus, may we reshape the instruments the enemy means for evil and redeem them to cultivate new life.
May we prepare the way for your return.
Would we be at the ready, not to wage war, but to sow peace, that the harvest may be plentiful.
Closing Prayer
Behold we are the servants of the Lord. Let it be to us according to your word. May we rest in the peace that the darkness can never extinguish the light that has been given to us.
