Opening Prayer
Lord Jesus, Light of light, you have come among us. The Lord is in our midst; he is mighty to save!
Scripture
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all. -1 Chronicles 29:11
Reflection
Holy Spirit, kindle the flame of our faith. Grow us in Peace. You govern all things in heaven and earth— grant us your peace all the days of our life.
Prayer
Majestic Lord, we bow to you, let us fear your holy name.
Stir in our hearts deep affection for you and your ways.
Let us put aside the things of this world as you come clearer into view in headship victorious in birth, life, death and resurrection this advent season.
We want to set our mind on things above.
So, help the things of this earth to grow dim through the power of your Holy Spirit.
Lead us to love one another, honoring your name. Teach our mantra to be ‘Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’ as we daily lay down our cross and follow you.
We are filthy rags without your redemption.
Let us never forget the miracle of your Word becoming flesh and dwelling among us.
We praise you, unable to adequately articulate our thanks, for not leaving us in our filth, but purifying us by your redemption plan through Jesus.
You are an abundant Father.
Let our souls bless you, our Lord, as we sing, Holy Holy Holy, fill the Earth with your glory.
Closing Prayer
Behold we are the servants of the Lord. Let it be to us according to your word. May we rest in the peace that the darkness can never extinguish the light that has been given to us.
